Backing Up SoftConnect™*

There is a file we need to find that contains the entire configuration for your SoftConnect.  Copying this file and pasting it somewhere else (preferably on the network), essentially “backs up” SoftConnect.

1. Please make sure SoftConnect is closed.
2. In Windows, go to My Computer > Local Disk C: > Program Files > Bio-Rad Laboratories > SoftConnect > Transformers   
3. Regardless of the name, open the next folder. 
4. Inside is a file with the same name as the folder and with the file extension .txml 
5. Right-click on the file and left-click on, “Copy”.
6. Now you can navigate to your network drive or anywhere you want to save the file.  Right-click and choose, “Paste”.

Note:  You may have more than one transformer for your SoftConnect.  If this is the case, you will have more than one folder under Transformers.  Simply go into each in turn and save the *.txml file.

*Connectivity Transformer users can use the same steps as above simply replacing “SoftConnect” with some variation of “Connectivity Transformation Manager”.
